Halloween

This year Ava wanted to be Rapunzel for Halloween.

The night before Halloween Ava and Daddy carved a pumpkin and she loved pulling out the seeds and gooey stuff. Last year she wouldn't touch it so it was even more fun carving the pumpkin this year. She asked for a ladybug and daddy happily carved one for her.

She was so proud of her pumpkin!
Since Ava was Rapunzel we thought that Connor should be Pascal (her chameleon friend from the movie). I found this dinosaur costume at a consignment sale for $3 so I thought we could pretend he was a chameleon. Close enough to me, although Ava told me that chameleon's don't have sharp teeth and when we went to vote that morning at the library (in our costumes) a lady thought he was a frog. Chameleon, dinosaur, frog....same thing! ;)

Connor was getting sleepy at 5, not even dark yet as you can see from the pictures, so I had to quickly dress them in their costumes so that I could take their picture together before he went to bed. I was trying so hard to keep him up so that he could go trick or treating with us but there was no way he was going to make it till then.

Look, our 8 month old can walk!!

Just kidding, Mikey let go of his hand just before I took the picture...
and then 2 seconds later he fell

I have a giant baby, giant!

Before trick or treating we ate our jack o lantern pizza from papa murphy's. Amy introduced me to their heart shaped take and bake pizza for valentine's day so when I heard that they had a jack-o-lantern pizza I knew I had to get one for an easy meal on halloween night.

Ava and Daddy baked thier pumpkin seeds and they were yummy!

Gigi gave us this adorable cake stand with interchangeable charms for different holidays. We love it, even if it doesn't have any cakes on it! I'll be hanging my ornament charms next for Christmas time!

Since Connor fell asleep so early we each took turns taking Ava trick or treating.

We missed our annual tradition of picture taking and early trick or treating with our besties Amy and Brinley but we still had a good time. This girl had candy on the brain!!

A little out of sequence but here is a video I took of the kids during storytime at the library earlier that day. I took this adorable video of Ava a few years ago and I wanted another one of both of my kids. Lov 'em to pieces!!!

Iphone pictures and videos (Aug-Oct)

Ava and Macy running laps together outside

One of the first times for Connor to sit in the playground swings

First time sitting in the shopping cart

Walks to the park with both kids in the single stroller. They don't seem to mind.

She loves to spend time with her daddy in the evenings

Whoa, that's a close up! Sitting in the backseat between the kids on one of our roadtrips.

Lunch with Papa Mike in San Antonio

Ava's had more interest in Macy these days. Sorry Mace!

Fall Festival at Ava's school

Ava and Naomi

First time really crawling and I caught it on video!

We hadn't been to a pumpkin patch yet but when we saw this one inside Trader Joe's we snapped some pictures. Ava was satisfied for the time being!

Naps are few and far between for this little sleeping beauty so I had to take her picture. I've actually grown to like the no naps because she still has quiet time in her room and she goes to bed by 7-730. Being called into her room for a million little things till 10 pm is brutal when she naps!

So happy when I discovered Aldi has double seated grocery carts!!!

I'm a mean mommy. This was all my idea. It gave me a good laugh. :)

Rapunzel with her ladybug pumpkin

Blurry but cute! He is all over the place and pulls himself up whenever he can.

Weekend at Gigi's

Last weekend we went to The Woodlands to visit with Gigi and stay in her new house. Mikey and his friends Scott and Tim have been planning a mini guys weekend in The Woodlands so it was the perfect opportunity for us to go with him and stay with Gigi in her gorgeous new home.

We definitely "broke her house in". Within the first few hours Macy knocked over a glass of red wine, Connor spit up on an otoman, and we had toys strewn all over the house.

How is it that he already has perfectly arched eyebrows? Sorry buddy, not necessarily a "masculine" feature but I think it adds to your adorable expressions.

Trying out her new Rapunzel shoes! Just in time for Halloween!

Gigi got Ava a few new games and she LOVED them! I hadn't thought to get her games to play with but she is definitely at an age where she can play them and she is interested. Gigi got her Don't Spill the Beans, Candy Land, and Chutes and Ladders for those interested in some preschool friendly games.

After a nice lunch out Gigi, Mikey, and Ava went to play at a park nearby while I took Connor home to nap.

Aparently this girl is a natural at soccer. Mikey got a video of her dribbling the soccer ball, around playground obstacles mind you, and she is SO good. I was amazed. Gotta get her in soccer in the spring. Guess her "ballerina soccer" has been paying off! (ballerina soccer= listening to classical music, wearing a tutu, kicking the stuffed soccer ball, and stopping every few minutes to do ballet....her creation and it is quite entertaining)

Bow didn't last long in her hair so I guess Daddy was the lucky one who got to wear it???

Connor and Ava love their time with their Gigi
