36 week updates

I am now 36 weeks along! I have been going to my weekly doctor's appointments and they have all gone well. I am slightly dialated but still have a ways to go. Today the doctor didn't do any kind of measurements, other than belly. We will see how far I have progressed when I go again next week. The doctor said that Ava is measuring about 6 lbs. I don't know how they are able to tell but somehow they can give you a good estimate. I only have about 3 more weeks left at work before I take it easy for a few days before Ava's birth. I hope she holds on till then! My mom had me 4 weeks early and I was a little over 6 lbs. That is like me giving birth now! Hold on little girl, give your Momma at least a couple more weeks!

Other good news...our crib arrived ahead of delivery schedule! We picked it up on Friday and assembled it on Saturday. All the major furniture pieces are now in the nursery, we just have to finish decorating. Here is what we have so far.

My School Baby Shower

I have been extremely blessed to have so many baby showers. The teachers and staff at my school threw my last baby shower for me several weeks ago. I am really going to miss all these special women next year.

Against my will they made me take this shot.

This was one of my big gifts that they pitched in for. Ready for the reveal....

Tada! An A&M rocking chair for Ava. Isn't it cute?

Can you guess what this mommy necessity is? Hint, one of my work friends called it a milk extractor! Yep, a breast pump! I was more than excited to receive such an important (and expensive) item!

I asked Shannon, our school nurse, to be my assitant while I was opening gifts.

Not quite sure about this one. Aparently I make the weirdest faces and they all managed to get captured on camera. Why are yall friends with me?

My teammates Shelly and Misty with conehead Kristen. (what was my hair doing?)

Two of my closest friends at work, Stephanie and Sara, are also pregnant. It has been so fun sharing this experience with them. I am sure our other work friends are sick of hearing about all the baby talk!

The Woodlands Shower

These are way past due but here are pictures from my baby shower in The Woodlands that was hosted by Lauren's sweet friends Judy, Yvonne, and Wanda. It meant so much that these women would want to throw me a baby shower. Some of Lauren's closest friends were invited as well as my family and some of my friends in The Woodlands. Lauren, aka Grammie, has kept her friends up to date with my pregnancy and they were so sweet to come and shower Ava and I with gifts! It was amazing to see God's love through all these wonderful women!

"Soon to be" Aunt Bri

I was so happy to see Char. She happened to be in town that weekend for a wedding so she was able to come to the shower too!

My momma (Kay Kay to Miss Ava)

My aunt Lisa, Mimi, and Brianna (I loved having them there to share this with me!)

The amazing hostesses (Judy, Yvonne, Lauren, & Wanda)

My sweet Mimi (I can't believe she is going to be a great grandmother, she looks too good!)

34 weeks!

I set the timer to take this one hence the cut off face

Little girl will be here in no more than 6 weeks! Time has really flown by! I am so ready to meet her and snuggle with my little angel! Oh, and that newborn baby smell...I can't wait, love that smell! I had another doctor's appointment this week and met another doctor in the practice. I think I only have two more to meet. They have all been so friendly and knowledgeable. I feel totally comfortable with any of them delivering Ava. The doctor said everything looked good and when I told him I was having a girl he was surprised. He thought by the low heartbeat that I was having a boy since boys are generally lower. He made a joke and said that maybe I will have a tom boy then! Umm, no! Based on all the girly clothes that I have recieved for Ava and the fact that her mom used to wear pearls and dresses camping when she was younger, I think this little one will be all girl. The doctor's boy guess has made me just a bit nervous however. What if the Dr. giving the sonograms has been wrong????? I go for another two week appointment and then it is every week from then on out!
Yesterday I washed all of Ava's tiny clothes. I actually had fun doing laundry this time! I had two full loads. That goes to show you how many clothes I have recieved! They are all adorable too. It will be so fun to dress her.
Nursery Update-We have the dresser and matching night stand painted and in the nursery. Mikey just needs to put one more coat of paint on the drawers and put the new hardware on and then it will be ready for things to go in it. I have put the changing pad on it already as well as the cute baskets I recieved from pottery barn and I love how it has turned out. This past weekend we also took home the super comfy glider that Jim and Lauren bought for us. I LOVE it! It is the best chair in the world and it is going to look so cute in her room. The drawers are being painted in the room so we have to wait till t
hey are done to move in the glider. Until we get the crib I wont do much more decorating to the room. I need to see where everything is going to go first. I promise to post pictures once it is complete.

San Antonio Shower

Cassie, Mrs. Skeeters, and Alli threw me my 2nd baby shower in San Antonio. Once again, the hostesses completely outdid themselves! It was so nice to be back in my home town and share this exciting time with my best friends from high school and their moms. My mom, grandmother, and sisters were there as well so it made it extra special! I forgot my camera so these are pictures I took from Jenny's blog! (Cassie, your cd wouldn't allow me to open your pics on my home computer??)

The day after the baby shower our friends from high school had a brunch for Jenny and I. It has been tradition for all of us to get together with the soon to be mommies of the group and have our own little baby shower with just the 9 of us. We missed you Shelby! The girls gave Jenny and I more gifts, or should I say gifts for Bekah and Ava, and then they gave us these baskets of "midnight diapers" with fun messages for us to read when we are changing diapers in the middle of the night. I cannot wait to read them! Knowing these girls they will be hilarious. I will need a good laugh at 3 am!! Love you girls. Thank you for our special time with you and for the sweet gifts!

Dallas Shower

Sorry I am so late posting these! I have been having major technical difficulties trying to upload these pictures into a slideshow. As you can see I have given up! These are from my 1st baby shower thrown by my sweet friends Tana and Jenny. They did an INCREDIBLE job! Every detail was well thought out and I couldn't have asked for a better shower! It was wonderful to be surrounded by so many friends and family and celebrate Ava's upcoming arrival. She is already so loved!
