Happy 2 months old to my little man!! I just love his chair pictures this month. He is getting so big already and I love that he has started to smile. (By the way, I'm kind of obsessed with picmonkey, the new free photo editing site that took the place of picnik. It's fun to play around on and try out all the different features. I liked the polaroid look so I think I will use it from now on for the month pictures.)
Dear sweet Connor,
Well little guy, you are already two months old! It's strange how at times it seems like it has gone by fast but at other times I feel like you have been in our lives forever. You are growing up so fast and I am trying to soak up every moment of you being this little. I took you to your two month check up today and it appears you are much bigger than the average 2 month old. No surprise there really. You weigh 13 lbs. 9 oz. and are 24 1/2 inches long. Both measurements put you in the 90% my son! Dr. Jim says that you will probably be taller than 6 feet. I'm so glad that you are healthy and growing well.
Aside from growing a ton (the first month you were only considered to be in the 75% for height and weight) you have turned into a good sleeper. You now sleep in your crib and have been sleeping 6-7 hour stretches at night. Mommy only has to wake up once to feed you in the middle of the night and you fall right back to sleep. Thank you Lord! You sleep in your nap nanny (still need to get a picture of it) at nightime but for naps you sleep on your tummy. I'm breaking the rules a little but you sleep so peacefully on your belly and I watch you very closely on the monitor.
(this video is a little long but I know the grandparents will soak up every second of it)
We bought you a new bouncy seat that you seem to like. You don't care for swings so when we aren't holding you we have been putting you in your bouncy seat or on your playmat. Unfortunately though you dont last longer than 15 minutes in either before you start crying. You still love to be held by your momma!
In the evenings before we tuck sister in to bed we put you in bed with her. She loves it as you can tell from the grin on her face.
You look stunned in this picture but it's only because the lights were turned out and the flash from my camera startled you. You pray with us every night too so I had to get a picture of this sweet family moment.
Your silly sister is one of your biggest fans and I cant wait for yall to play together. I can just imagine the conversations (and fights!) now.
Bless your little heart, you still have some acid reflux and colic. They are both starting to get better though. I have stopped giving you Zantac for your reflux because it seems like you are slowly outgrowing it. Your colic was the worst this month (around week 6 or 7) and has gotten better in the last week. You still cry a lot in the evenings but at least now you have short moments of no crying and I can actually set you down for a little bit. We have figured out that a few things that help are being outside, getting out of the house to run an errand, or putting you in the bouncy seat on the dryer or holding you by the dryer (thanks Wendy for the advice!). You really loves the sound and vibration from the dryer and you calm down almost immediately.
The bouncy seat isn't the safest on the dryer because as you can see the edge hangs off a little so we either keep it propped in place with the chair or I hold you.
This is what you and I look like every evening from around 5-8. We bounce and bounce and bounce ....May I remind you that you are a hefty 13 pounds and my arms and back start to hurt so bad!
Although the stress and tiredness get to me some nights, I know that you need me right now to help you through this colicky time and I will do whatever it takes. That is what mommy's are for!
I love you so much Squeaky!! My heart honestly grows fonder for you with each passing day. I can't wait to see more of your personality come through in the next month. You are my precious gift and I thank God every day that he gave me you.
xoxo,
Mommy

If the dryer is working, try the other 4 s's - swaddling, side, suckie, and swing. Dr. Happiest Baby on the Block insists that colic is the 4th trimester, and we should re-create the womb. I forgot a lot of stuff the second time around. Or call me - I can totally baby whisper if it's not my baby - ha ha ha!
so sweet. you are the BEST momma Kristen! Sorry you are having to work so hard- sounds like you are figuring it out and its getting better! We love our seat like that and J loves the toy bar on it too actually- it keeps him there a little longer I think. And we always had to be outside with Alex to help with his fussiness at night (and all day! geez) And like Vaune said- I actually started swaddling J in the evening again- put him down in his seat with a pacifier in and he will hang out a little bit like that. Weird since we stopped swaddling way back! Love that sweet Ava- you can see how much she loves her bubba!! :) so cute! I will have to check out that picmonkey too!
cassie is right, you are the best mama, doing everything you can for that sweet connor and he is SO blessed by you! no wonder he wants you to hold him all the time, he adores you! those pics at the end of you holding him are precious, pictures really do speak a 1000 words, huh? and that's wonderful to hear about his 6-7 hour stretches, better than his friend benjamin ever did at that age, way to go connor! and way to go mama, for helping him so much, teehee, love the pics of him on the dryer! we love you guys!
