Connor is 13 months old!
Here is what C has been up to this month:
*We are officially done with nursing. Always a bittersweet time for your momma but I am so thankful that I was able to nurse you for a full year like I did your sister. I'm pretty confident you would have nursed till you were 3...but come on, YOUR HUGE! It was the right time but I will miss those special moments with you that only a nursing mother can understand. With that said, I made sure that daddy took a picture after I nursed you for the last time.
(I got a bow placed in my hair for this shot)
*You don't mind cow's milk but you will only drink it in a bottle and you prefer it warmed up.
*You have "discovered your voice" this month which is a nice way of saying that you are not afraid to show us your frustration, by crying and yelling, if we are not quick enough with giving you a bottle or if we take something away from you. Before this month you were always so content and very rarely cried or got upset over things.
*You are also trying to say new words. You try to say Ava and when we ask you if you want something you say "es". I'm not sure if you are saying yes or trying to say please, which we have been working with you on. You also say "iiii" and wave when you see me or daddy.
*You still have an obsession with vacuuming and shoes. Your toy vacuum is your favorite right now and I often times will find you in the playroom or your room pushing it around back and forth like you are vacuuming. The highlight of your week (yes, my floors are beyond furry by that point) is when I take my vacuum out to clean. You vacuum right along side me and it is so cute! If you ever want me to vacuum you go to the closet where it is located and will pat the door and look at me. Sorry little guy, this maid does not have time for recreational vacuuming.
*You like to play with your cars and make a vroom sound when you play with them. You also make a growling sound when you play with your dinosaurs. I love how innate those things are to you. Having the opportunity to raise a son and a daughter has been more fun than I could have imagined. I love seeing the differences between the two of you. Having you has definitely kept things fresh and new and I can't wait to see more of the world through your eyes. (and sidenote while we are on differences, ive discovered that i cannot take you to storytime at the library like i have always done with your sister. you want to explore the whole place and make friends with strangers rather than sit in mommy's lap. too funny!)
*You love bath time and have recently discovered bubble bath making bath time even more fun!
*You are getting new teeth left and right! You have your 4 molars and are now getting ones on the bottom to fill in the gaps. Crazy!
*You are going to bed about 30-45 minutes later than usual putting you in bed around 6. You still sleep about 12-13 hours at night and wake between 6:30 and 7. You take two naps, around 8:30 and 1, and sleep about 1- 2 hours each. At night we have been involving the whole family in storytime rather than just you and I. Your favorite books are ones with animals, ladybugs, or elmo.
| *Your favorite snacks are raisins, graham crackers, cheese sticks, and fruit. There aren't many things you won't eat. *You are sitting forward facing in your carseat and love it. |
*You are waving hi and bye and blowing kisses (which is just you puckering your lips and making a kissing sound- so sweet!).
*When daddy comes home you wave hi and pat his leg as if you are so happy to see him. (you and sissy finger painted some picture frames for daddy's birthday)
*Ava has been teaching you how to do one of things that she loves best, coloring. Anytime you get a crayon you either put it in your mouth or start looking for some paper to make marks on.
This month you are looking bigger and acting older than ever before. You are definitely in the toddler stage now! I love you more than words can say, little guy! xoxo, mommy |
