Phone pictures (August-September)

First day of school wore him out!

She decided that was a good spot to draw :)

After bathtime sillies

Kendall is getting so big

But she really is just a tiny little thing :)

Ava and Connor were asked to be in Ryan and Lauren's wedding in March!

She wanted to give us all a "foot bath" complete with lotion and sparkly nail polish (even the boys got the sparkles)

She misses her little sister and always asks me if she can play with Kendall

She still makes time to draw and do crafts :)

We loved having lunch with Ava at her school

One of their special performances

Having a deep conversation about who knows what

Kendall loves being apart of the action and sitting in her bumbo seat

Ava asked if we do experiments one Saturday so thanks to pinterest we found a few simple ones

Waving to the garbage man on Mondays is still the highlight of his week

Ava has been asking to do dance so we signed her up for dance classes through our YMCA. The cost is super cheap, two of her friends from Pre-K are in the class, Connor gets to go to childcare during the class, I get to visit with my friend Liz, AND......the recital is FROZEN!! Win Win!

hehe

Tackling daddy
"Edging"

We play outside at least 2 hours on days he isn't in school
They don't interact a lot but he sure does love his little sister and is so gentle with her.
"Girls, do a dance pose."

Hair salon is a favorite activity around these parts
He wanted to carry his own nap mat and bag when we left school. Such a big boy!

Kendall- 5 Months Old

My littlest chicken, you are 5 months old!

Here are some things about your cute 5 month self:

*You weigh 14 lbs. 7.5 ounces (I took you to the dr. for a cough and they weighed you. You just have a little cold).

*Most days you only want to nurse every 4 hours (sometimes longer). I have never had a baby that would refuse nursing but you do. It has to be when YOU are ready, even if that means just 30 minutes later.

*You are a flexible sleeper. I can't say that we have you on a true nap schedule yet but I dont know if that will ever happen because we are on the go most days with school drop off and pick up (and two days a week that is at two seperate schools). If you are really tired and desperate for sleep, you will nap in the car but you will fight it as long as possible.

*We can always count on a good morning nap with you after we drop your big sister and big brother off at school. That nap is usually between 9 or 9:30 and lasts about 2 hours or more. Some times you aren't able to settle down easily for your second and third nap (let me think, do you take 4 naps?) and I have to bounce you or carry you around the house in the Ergo till you fall asleep and then I lay you back down.

*You are about to cut a tooth any day now! I am pretty sure that has something to do with why some naps are hard for you. (Not to mention, your cradle cap is loosening on your head and I bet it is itchy and uncomfortable). It's tough being a baby! ;)

*You love to be wherever your brother and sister are. Your eyes are always fixed on them when they are in the room and you smile and get so happy when they talk and interact with you. It makes my heart happy to see the three of you together and happy.

*When like sitting in the bumbo seat, jumping in the jumperoo, laying on your playmat, and taking stroller rides in the big stroller so you can see out.

We love you Kendall Wendall!!!

Kendall 4 months old

Our sweet Kendall girl is 4 months old!

Here are some highlights from the past month:

*You weigh 13 lbs. 13 ounces (39%)
*You are 24 inches long (27%)

*At your 4 month well check Dr. Pam said that you look great! As usual I didn't have any concerns that I needed her to address. You are a wonderful baby!

*You take about 3-4 naps a day (the last nap is a short one and I usually just carry you in the Baby Ergo while you sleep since you don't like sleeping in your pack n play during this nap). Your naps usually last  about 1-3 hours. If I lay you down at the perfect time (not overtired and usually about 1-1 1/2 hours of being awake) you can usually put yourself to sleep pretty quickly. If I miss the window you cry a lot and I sometimes have to go and bounce you to sleep.

*You go to bed about 7 and wake between 3-5 to nurse and then you go back to sleep.

*You refuse to nurse if it has been sooner than 3 hours since your last feeding and sometimes you don't want to nurse till it has been 4 hours. Maybe you are getting closer to a 4 hour schedule already.

*You always have your fists in your mouth. I think teeth are just around the corner! Your brother already had two bottom teeth by now and your sister had some between her 4th and 5th month.

*You have been sitting in the bumbo seat and you love it. Ava especially loves it because she thinks that is her special time to "play" with you. She usually sets up all your toys around you including some of her own. ;)

*You have been trying so hard to reach for your toys. You have grabbed them a few times and then they immediately go in your mouth.

*No rolling over yet.

*I have heard a giggle or two already but they aren't regular occurences yet.

*You have proven this month that long road trips are not your favorite. :/

This sweet picture is now one of my favorites. Those ears and that sweet face...I love her to pieces!!!

Connor's 1st day of Pre-School

Today, Connor started PreSchool! This is such a huge milestone for our little guy because this is his 1st day of school, ever! He is going to the same PreSchool that Ava went to and he will be going two days a week. He is in Ms. Analyn and Ms. Lisa's class.

He has always done well when I leave him places like the child care at church, bible study, or the YMCA so I knew he probably wouldn't have a hard time saying goodbye. I talked to him about school and everything he was going to do there and he was excited to go to school like his sissy. When we walked into the classroom he was a little clingy and apprehensive at first but he did fine. After a quick picture with his teachers and a kiss goodbye I walked out the door.

I thought about him all day and kept wondering what he was doing. When I picked him up his teachers said he did great! He didn't nap like I had hoped but his teachers said that he rested and did a good job staying on his nap mat. I am sure once he gets used to the routine of school and what nap time at school is like that he will settle down and eventually nap.

I asked him specific things about his day but he didn't tell me too much. I think he was so tired. He said he did have fun so that is the most important thing. He was very proud of the picture he colored and he wanted Daddy to take it to work to hang up.

I can't wait to see how much he learns this year!
