I am 27 weeks along now and really feeling pregnant. Clothes are an interesting challenge these days and when I am on my feet for a long time my body begins to tell me it is time to put my feet up and rest. Ava comes up in conversation all the time now and I love thinking about what our life is going to be like with her here. Preparations have begun on her nursery, although we still have a ways to go. Mikey put the first coat of paint on the walls and he did a great job. My showers start the second week in January so we are trying to get the painting done and the crib set up by then so we can start putting her other things in there.
Our next sonogram will be January 6th so stay tuned for another exciting video!
Here is the latest update from Baby Center.
This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle
