Alli's Bday and Family Visit Part 2

Last Tuesday my dad came in town for a little visit while he had some time off of work. We hadn't seen him in so long so we soaked up every minute we spent with him. I think he did the same, especially with Miss Ava. She loved showing him her toys, her table where she loves to color, and she also showed just how silly and cute she can be these days. We were constantly laughing just watching her.

Tuesday was Alli's official birthday so we had a family dinner night planned for her. Her and Ava enjoyed some mini birthday cupcakes!

Granny Jean (dad's mom) came over for dinner as well and the loving embrace between her and my dad when they saw each other after so long was incredibly sweet. Luckily I had my camera near by.

Doesn't that squeeze just say it all!?

The next morning we headed to the State Fair! My dad hadn't been since he was a kid so it was fun to take him back. Aunt Konnie, Aunt Kassandra, and Granny Jean met us there as well. It was a perfect day at the fair! (if Mikey was there it would have been icing on the cake but unfortunately he had to work)

Dad and "his girls"

(minus his other girl Shirley, we missed you Shirley!)

The petting zoo was the biggest hit of all, as expected. Last year Ava was a little too small to really enjoy the petting zoo but this year she was ready to feed and mingle with them! No more baby bejorns here. We want to explore!

Ava loves giraffes and she was fascinated with this one. Aparently this is how they sleep because he was in that position for quite a long time with no movement???

Papa took Ava for a closer look at the rollercoaster. I love how some things are still so new and interesting to her.

Love this one of Ava and her Papa

We had a great time at the fair. The beautiful weather and the fun company could not be beat! We originally only planned to stay for a couple of hours, until right before naptime, but Ava fell asleep in her stroller so we were able to stay 4 1/2 hours! I loved that we got to enjoy more of the fair but boy were we exhausted when we got home!

Thanks Dad for making the long drive to come visit us! We love you and miss you already!
