Christmas #1 & 2

(two more posts prior to this one in case you missed them. I got on a blog tangent recently. only behind 3 posts now. woohoo)

We spent an early Christmas with my mom and her side of the family as well as with Gigi and Bpop a few weeks before Christmas. The original plan was to meet my mom's family first in College Station to watch my cousin graduate and then all of us would head back to Spring to have a graduation party and an early Christmas. We would then stay with Gigi and Bpop and spend time with them the rest of the weekend. Everything went as planned except for the fact that Connor caught a stomach bug the day we were supposed to leave. We unfortunately missed my cousin's graduation but since Connor was feeling a little better the next day we decided to make the drive to Spring/The Woodlands. We really wrestled with the decision to leave since he still wasnt feeling 100% and we didnt know who would be next to catch it but I figured being with family would provide us with an extra set of hands if needed to take care of Connor or any of us who might get sick later. I am very glad we decided to go. Being with family is the best medicine! Connor was feeling better with each passing day and miraculously none of us got sick (oh wait, I think Gigi and Bpop actually ended up getting sick a few days after we left them. How did we escape it but they didn't?!) We were all taking probiotics twice a day and I think that saved us. It's worked every time one of us have gotten the stomach bug! Florastor Probiotics....invest in it!!

With all that was on my mind I forgot to bring my camera to my Aunt's house so Mikey took some pictures on his iphone. Not great quality but you get the idea.

My beautiful mom, her husband David, and Mimi watching Connor open one of his presents.

Ava got a scooter from Aunt Lisa and Uncle Matt!

The reindeer shirt made another appearance. It was the "all things Christmas" outfit of choice aparently. She loves Christmas and everything about it!

Mimi made her this fleece princess blanket that she sleeps with every night. Connor also got an adorable cars and trucks one too.

We stayed at Gigi and Bpop's Woodlands house and Ava opened more presents the next morning.
She got lots of princess stuff in preparation for our Disney World trip with them in May!!!! That was our big present from them this year and May could not get here soon enough. We are all excited but Ava literally talks about it every.single.day! I am so glad we are able to go at a time when she is SO into princesses and she can really appreciate it.

Playing in the tub at Gigi's is always a must

We were so glad that Mimi, Aunt Lisa, and Alli came over the next day so that we could visit with them some more. Our visit was way too short!

Mimi and her great grandson

I have to note that my Mimi is in the best physical and mental health than anyone I have ever met her age. She NEVER AGES and never complains about aches and pains. Nothing slows her down. I now use the same skin care line that she has been using forever. Her skin is amazing! It's a no brainer to me! This stuff is the fountain of youth!! Love you Mimi.

Another activity at Gigi's was cookie decorating

Modeling her new princess dress and backpack

She had fun with her guests inside her new cardboard castle

Doing some scooting on her new scooter!

Ava, Gigi, and Daddy also made ornaments and decorated them with glitter. Anything to do with glitter is awesome in Ava's book.

My sweet boy didn't get his picture taken much because he was sleeping off his sickness a lot of the day.

I'm so so glad that we came to spend time with our family. We love each of you and cherish any amount of time that we can spend with you. Now, all of you make plans to move to Dallas so we can see you whenever we want. ;)
