Ava at 5 years old

Ava Marie, you are 5 years old! I'm getting emotional just thinking about how quickly you have grown up. In a few short months you will be going to Kindergarten. It seems like yesterday that you were a baby and now you have grown up to be a smart, caring, beautiful, creative, and fun loving 5 year old. I wish I could keep you little forever and keep you with me everyday but I know part of growing up is letting you experience new things (like big school!) and allowing you to become independent. You will always be my precious baby girl and I will continue to cherish all the memories that we make together and as a family as you continue through each new phase of life.

Here are some things about you at 5 year olds:

* You weigh 39 lbs. and wear size 4t (bottoms) and 5t (tops and dresses).

*You haven't taken regular naps in over a year but you do have quiet time every day in your room or our room every day.

*You go to bed around 8 and sleep till about 6:45-7. You sleep with your two taggie blankies and about 100 of your stuffed animals and multiple pillows of different sizes. I can't believe there is still room for you in that twin bed!

*You go to Pre-K three days a week and absolutely love school! Your teachers are Ms. Laurie and Ms. Danielle.

*You want to be a dentist when you grow up.

*You love all things princess as well as making crafts, coloring, playing with legos, dressing up, and putting on dancing performances (usually with daddy). You amaze me with your creativity and imagination in everything you do!

*Your favorite tv shows are Imagination Movers, Peppa Pig, Doc McStuffins, and Sofia the 1st. Your favorite movies this year have been Frozen (of course!), The Tinker Fairies movies, Pocahontis, and Mary Poppins.

* You know all your letter sounds and a few sight words. I know reading is just around the corner for you.

*There are still some words that you mispronounce and when you say words in the past tense you add an extra "-ed" to every word. For example "jumpeded, writed, playeded" etc...We think it is so cute and we don't correct you very much for several reasons. It's one of the few things that you still do that remind us that you are little and if we correct you we don't want it to hurt your confidence (you don't like to be wrong or feel like you cant do something-you got that from me. Sorry!). We know eventually there wont be any words that you mispronounce so for now we just smile at your cuteness.

We love you SO very much Ava Marie! You bring us so much joy and laughter! Stop growing up so fast won't you! ;)
xoxo,
mommy
