Connor at 2 years old

My sweet Connor, you are 2 years old!! How did that happen? I feel like I blinked and then all of a sudden you were a toddler! We feel so blessed to have you in our life and the past two years have been such a joy watching you grow. I love seeing the world through the eyes of a little boy. I cherish the bond that we share and you will forever be my sweetest boy.

Here are some things about you at 2 years old:

*Your nicknames are Mr. Squeaks, Buddy, Bud, and Little Guy (You call yourself "na na")

*You weigh 34 pounds and continue to be in the 95-97% in height and weight. You wear size 3t clothes and size 6 diapers. Big Boy!

*You are a momma's boy (although this has changed slightly since Kendall has been born) and  you are always up for snuggles! If you are ever upset about something all I have to do is hold you and you are ok.

*You are beginning to really bond and identify with your daddy and you want to do everything that he does. You like to help daddy mow and fix things with your tools and anytime you wear a button up shirt you smile and say "dadda".

*You have a fascination with cars (specifically the small matchbox cars), tractors/construction equipment, garbage trucks, lawn mowers, balls, tools, and vacuums. You love to watch the garbage trucks on Monday mornings and anytime we spot someone mowing the grass you want to "see".

*You have started having an interest in tv. We recorded Cars (aka "Car Movie" in our house) and you ask to watch it every.single.day.

*You are becoming more independent and want to do things on your own, specifically buckling your seat belt and putting on your clothes.

*You have picked up your sister's habit of transporting toys/books with you everywhere you go. You insist on taking a bag of books or cars with you every time we leave the house.

*Speaking of books, you absolutely LOVE books! Aside from playing with your cars, looking at books is one of your favorite things to do and you will sit for quite awhile by yourself looking at them. I hope you always have a love for books!

*You are still a good sleeper, sleeping about 12 hours at night and napping 2 hours during the day. You still sleep in your sleep sack in your crib. You sleep with your two taggie blankets along with 3 little stuffed animals (Bee, Pooh, and Puppy). We read you about 3 books before bed and hum You Are My Sunshine before laying you down.

*You and your sissy are becoming best buddies. Yall like to play together, especially when dancing, wrestling, or tickling is involved.

*You occasionally go to time out for not obeying and for the most part you do a good job at staying put in your time out spot (a corner in the hallway). It's hard for mommy not to smile when you sit there and look up at me with those puppy dog eyes and little smirk (like you know you did something wrong but you also know you are too cute...stinker!)

*You enjoy going to BSF and church and walk right in and start playing with the toys without even a look back to say goodbye.

*You are talking more and more but you probably don't have as many words as some other 2 year olds. You still fall within the "normal" range with the amount words you can say according to the pediatrician. I'm not concerned because I know that in your own time your vocabulary will advance and you will have plenty to say! (Since I am writing this now that you are 26 months old, you have already started putting lots of words together and are saying new words everyday).

Connor, there aren't enough I Love You's or hugs and kisses to express to you how much we love and adore you. You are one special special little boy and will always be one of my greatest and most cherished gifts.

xoxo,
Mommy
