This past Saturday marked my 29th week of pregnancy. If you haven't noticed by now I try and give updates every 2 weeks. From the time I last posted Ava has grown substantially! I am sure it has something to do with all the yummy food I ate over the holidays but I am also getting closer to the end and she is growing extremely rapidly. I think she was a "late bloomer" but her increasing size is starting to show on me for sure! I get extremely uncomfortable after meals, especially in the evenings. There just isnt a lot of room in there any more for a 2 1b. baby and food! Another thing I have noticed over the past two weeks is the little kicks that I was feeling before have turned into full body presses against my belly. I can push and she pushes back. My belly has been very bouncy and full of movement lately. This morning I woke up, after lying on my side of course, and my belly was completely lopsided from her settling into her sleeping position while I was on my side. It was the wierdest thing! We have our next sonogram tomorrow, Tuesday, and we can't wait to get another glimpse of her and see how much she has grown! It brings me so much joy and gratitude to know that we will have a little baby girl in our lives so soon!
In previous posts I had mentioned that we were in the process of painting the nursery and about ready to assemble the crib that has been camping out in our garage for the past 3 weeks. When we returned from our long vacation away Mikey put the finishing touches on the paint and we assembled the crib that I thought I was so in love with. The crib is beautiful and looks just like the picture on the website however when we put the bedding on the crib I was very disappointed. What I didn't realize was that because of the thick wood paneling in the front of the crib, that gives it it's dramatic look, it covers up most of the bumper and crib skirt. You can hardly see the bedding at all from the frontal view. To make matters worse the crib sheet had a few slits in it so I have to return that as well! Mikey was incredibley sweet and understanding and said that we can take the crib apart, return it, and pick out something else that I like better. He knows that if Kristen ain't happy then he won't be either!!! So...I quickly found another crib that I liked and we placed an order for it. It wasn't until after we payed for it online that we realized that it is on backorder till February 24th, less than a month before Ava is here!!!!! I am so bummed! Our glider should be arriving at the end of January and we still have to refinish the dresser/changing table so there wont be anything in the nursery for a while. Did I mention the curtains we want are on backorder too?! I have been so anxious and excited to start setting up and decorating the nursery and now I have to wait even longer. I have had a few tears about it already but I realize there is nothing I can do about it and there is no sense in worrying about it. In fact, I think God is trying to teach me to slow down and stop worrying about the little things and focus more on this incredible blessing that he is giving us. After lots of prayer I am content with putting my nesting instincts on hold and letting things be. I just want to spend the remaining 11 weeks mentally preparing for Ava and appreciating this God given gift that we are about to recieve.

11 weeks! That is so soon! I actually returned the 1st crib we bought (after Tom had assembled it). You need to get what makes you happy! Can't wait to see you on Saturday!
Oh Vaughanie I am sorry about all that stuff but I am glad you are feeling better now : ). It's wonderful that Mikey was so sweet about it and that you finally got what you wanted. Way to be on top of things giving you enough time to change your mind and be ready before she comes! : ) See you soon!
Hey girl! Sorry I am just now getting back with you. Briley is really keeping us busy. She is such a bundle of joy. We are really enjoying each and every minute with her. Being a parent is so much fun. The color of the nursery is Valspar Eggshell Hubbell House Tamarisk from Lowes. Hope you are doing well.
So I usually read your blog through google reader until your shower today. I thought I would actually look at the actual blog site for Daddy's patio. Mike, hilarious. Keep em coming. You guys are going to be awesome parents!
Picture where is a picture of the ava belly?
