Family Time

This past weekend Ava and I had lots of family time. While Mikey was away having a boys weekend Kay Kay and Bri came to visit us one last time this summer before school starts. Having them here just makes me so happy. They love doing whatever we have in store that weekend, whether it be staying at home and doing nothing or doing something fun around town. Anytime they are here we (or should I say my mother, Miss Social Queen) always invite more family over so that we can all visit. That was just the case on Saturday night and had about 10 of the Vaughans over for pizza and games. Always a good time!

Tea time with Granny Jean (check out the hot pink socks, they're back! I think the days of dressing ourselves are fast approaching)

Ava's second cousin Aubrey joined in on tea as well

This is one of the few times she sits still so I made sure Granny Jean got some more Ava time.

While Kay Kay and Bri were here we also took them to two of our favorite spots this summer, Tappy's Frozen Yogurt and the Rainforest Aquatic Complex in Carrollton. Having this mini waterpark so close to home has been a nice place to come to this summer. We have been just about every week this past month. Too dang hot to be outside and not be in the water!

Ava loves to splash in the fountains. She likes it even more when they hit her face. Silly girl!

We like to go to the waterpark in the morning from 10-12 before the crowds get there and it gets too hot. Plus, it wears her out so I can usually get a good nap from her when we get home.

Bri loved getting splashed by this giant bucket on top of one of the slides that drops water about every 3 minutes.

Ava loves pointing to the bucket as it is filling up with water and dinging to signal it is about to drop. It never looses its fascination with her.

We always pack a picnic lunch and take it with us. Can I just tell you how much I love this travel high chair?? It has been one of the best things we have bought and we take it everywhere.

She can't stay in the water long you know so here she is exploring around the side of the pool. She was actually dancing to the music that was playing.

She thinks she is a big girl climbing up all the stairs and wading in the water. Fearless I tell you but oh so much fun!! She gets a smile everywhere we go.

Thank you Kay Kay and Bri for making the long drive again to come and see us. The time we spend with you are priceless memories! Enjoy your last week or two of summer before school starts.
