Welcome Home Daddy

Well we didn't have a welcome home sign and a clean house like I came home to from my girls weekend but we had lots of hugs and smiles to greet our daddy as he came home from spending the weekend with his friends. We missed him so much but are so glad he got to spend some quality time with some of his closest friends. They get together every two years for thier so called "Manimal Weekend" (you would have to know my husband and his friends to get thier humor) where they hang out and do "man" things. They even have competitions that earn them points towards the coveted manimal trophy. Did I mention they have a unique sense of humor?! I highly support the weekend and am so thankful that Mikey has such great Christian men as friends that he can do these things with. I am friends with all these guys and their wives too and was trying to organize a "WOmanimal weekend" with the wives and kids but unfortunately all the women were busy. Next time ladies!

I am so proud of Mikey and the guys because this year one of their competitions was to raise money to donate to a charity. Mikey organized a bowling benefit where all the guys got sponsors and then bowled together at a place like Main Event to raise money. I think most of the guys raised enough money to equal about $1 or more a pin so collectively as a group they raised over $1200 to go to the funding of The Galileo School, a school that is in the works of being built in Uganda. Our good friends Chris and Abbey Carter are on the Board for this wonderful project and we want to support it and promote it in any way that we can. If you would like to donate money to this school there is a place to do so on thier website linked above.

Look who came home with the Manimal Trophy this year!!! They even have plaques on the trophy to engrave the names of the winners on. We were proud girls!

Mikey sure did miss this little girl in particular
