4 months old

Happy 4 months to my baby boy!

We had your 4 month check up today and as expected you are a big healthy boy!

You weigh  17 lbs. 4.5 ounces (90-97%) WHOA!

You are 27 inches long (97%)

Your head size is 17 1/4 inches (75-90%)

This month has also been full of changes for you!

*One of the biggest things this month is you have started to laugh. It isn't the full on belly laugh but it is a laugh none the less. Usually if I kiss your cheeks and neck or say something in a silly voice you will let out a few chuckles.

*A big change that isn't such a happy one is you have started waking up in the middle of the night again. :( I should have known that it wouldn't last. You still sleep swaddled and in your nap nanny at night but you have pretty much outgrown both. We will get rid of them both soon.

*Your naps still aren't great either. (sleeping in general is still a work in progress!) Your first nap of the day is your longest, usually about an hour, and every nap after that is about 20-45 minutes. If you wake up after 20 minutes I can usually get you back to sleep, only to wake up again in another 10 minutes. I can tell you are tired and you need longer naps but you still rely on Mommy to help you sleep. (sleep training starts soon bud so get ready!) You are still sleeping on your tummy for naps.

*Seeing that cute grin of yours when I go to you in the morning is the perfect start to my day!

*You sat in your bumbo seat and exersaucer for the first time this month. You are very entertained when you are in your exersaucer. It's nice to be able to put you in there and let you "play".

*You can now reach for objects and bring them to your mouth. You also have discovered your toes and try very hard to grab them. Before long they will be in your mouth I am sure.

*You still wear size 2 diapers and wear size 6-9 month clothes.

*Daddy's back is getting better and he is able to hold you more which has been nice. You and your daddy are going to be best buds I am sure!

*Your first time in the swimming pool was also this month. You didn't know what to think about it at first but you liked it after awhile.

*And lastly, probably the biggest change this month is you have TEETH! We went to visit Gigi and Bpop and while we were there I noticed two little white teeth coming through on the bottom. No wonder you have been drooling and putting fists and toys in your mouth! I really feel like you are no longer a little baby now. :( You have teeth and will be eating solids soon!

*For comparison, he is a picture of you and your sister around the same age. Aside from the hair and eye color you definitely have some resemblances.

I can't believe how fast you are growing and changing. I feel like you were just a newborn and now you have teeth and are almost double your birth weight! I love your happy demeanor and your sweet smiles. I am beyond blessed that God has chosen me to be your mommy. I love you more than you will ever know!
