Re-do

If I could re-do our wedding (with my same charming prince of course) this is exactly what I would do! GORGEOUS in every way from the vintage wedding dress to the bright colors and country setting. Ever since I came across this site from a blog I follow I have been obsessed with these pictures. Of course I would need to have millions of dollars for such a wedding, oh and a vintage gown, but one can dream.

I Heart Garage Sales!

I am now obsessed with garage sales! Tana, Vaune, and I have been planning to go out to some garage sales together for awhile now. This weekend was the big weekend. We were a little too excited about it because Vaune and I actually had trouble sleeping last night just thinking about all the great deals we were bound to find! We mapped out our stops and decided to take advantage of some neighborhood garage sales in Southlake. We loaded up in my Tahoe around 7:30 this morning and hit the town! (I know we are dorks but really if you gave garage saling a try you would be hooked like we are). We found some GREAT stuff and had a blast! Side note, I am extremely surprised at the amount of crap that people put out in garage sales. That is probably why some people are turned off by garage sales but if you look in the right places.....you can find treasures like I found!!!!!

Such as these clothes, a hat from Janie and Jack, photo albums, books, and my little pony all which cost only $7!
But the biggest deal of them all, and frankly why I am giddy about garage saling, is that I found a Bob Revolutionary stroller for...........$50!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you know about the amazingness of these strollers they run around $400 in the stores so this was a complete steal. They could have gotten so much more for it but oh well. Thier loss and my gain!

I scrubbed it real good with soap and water and then hosed it off so it would be good as new! Ava loves her new ride too!

Please Vote for Ava

We recently got pictures taken of Ava and the photographer has a contest at the end of each month for the best picture. Ava is in the running and we would really appreciate your vote! If we win we get a free 16X20 portrait of her! You know from my previous post that I am super cheap so anything free gets me really excited, especially if it is a giant picture of my precious girl in a tutu!!!

Please click here and scroll down to vote for Ava's picture. The polls close on Monday and currently we are in second place (by a lot I am afraid). I think the other people are cheaters. ;) Please pass this on to anyone you know that you think would take the 2 seconds it takes to vote. I really really appreciate it!

(So sorry if you have already recieved an email or seen my facebook message about this. I wanna win!)

What Every Mom Needs

I already hinted to the hubby that I would like one of these some day. They're so pretty I had to pass them on.

Crafts and Home Project

I saw this cute shirt on one of my favorite blogs so I made one for Ava last night at Supper Club(the girls always do new crafts at SC). I think it turned out cute and it couldn't have been easier to make. It took me literally 3 minutes. Those are my kind of crafts! Tana and Vaune made this craft instead and I loved them. They will make such a cute decoration for their home. I didn't like the way the "S" looked or I would have made one too.

Modeling her new "vintage" lacey shirt

Tryin out a new smile

This baking mat, that I got in the dollar section at Target, is my new favorite baby item now that Ava is feeding herself. I usually just bring it to restaurants as her "placemat" so I am not putting her food on the nasty table but tonight I put it on her high chair. It kept the tray from getting so nasty and it was less slippery so she could grab her food easier. (the girl LOVES her some black beans! i like how it looks like she has a 5 o'clock shadow after she eats them. :)

We finally found the darkening shade I have been looking for for Ava's room. I no longer have to use a sheet to block out the light! Woohoo! We found this one at Home Depot and Mikey installed it this afternoon. I wanted one that went over the blinds and that I could raise up during the day when she wasn't napping and this is perfect.

My Summer Obsession

Ok, maybe I have two summer obsessions! Now that I have been introduced to the blogging world I am totally hooked BUT I love Wednesday and Thursday nights because of a particular show that comes on TV. Know what it is?? So You Think You Can Dance!!! I love love this show and it has become an obsession. I think about it all day, I know I need to get a life, and I tevo every episode and watch them over and over throughout the week. Pathetic huh? I secretly wish I could be one of the contestants on that show. They are incredible! I don't think 3 years of dance team is going to qualify me! My favorites at the moment are Chelsie, Will, and Katee. I went to a show on their tour last year and I cannot wait to go again this year! Who wants to go with me? If you are a fan like me tell me who your favorites are! ;)

Shout out to The Dollar Tree!

Most of you know I love me some bargains! Hello, Forever 21 and my all time favorite The Dollar Tree! For those of who have not discovered the ghettoness, I mean GREATNESS, of The Dollar Tree you must check it out! There is no way I am going to pay full price for things at other places when I can find it for a buck! I just got back from there and had to share my finds. First off here is a list of things I always shop for there:
1) gift bags for all occasions, wrapping paper, tissue paper, scotch tape (not some generic brand either), packaging tape, cards (although the cards are not the greatest, they look like cards from the 80's, it is the thought and what you write on the inside that matters, right?
2) It is also great for party supplies too like plastic cups, styrofoam plates, plastic utensils, tablecloths, etc...

Dollar Tree is also my favorite teacher store! For all my teacher friends this is what I recently bought for the classroom. Good finds!
1) Name plates with cute bugs on them!
2)Name tags
3)Fly swaters with giant flowers on them for "pointers" to use in a Read around the room center.
4)Coloring books- to have as another option for those rainy day recesses
5) 4th of July ice cube trays that have exactly 10 spots to use as ten frames. I am going to use mine in a center.
5)Treasure box stuff. They have a lot of High School Musical pencils, erasers, and notepads that the kids will go nuts for.
6)I also buy the colored plastic tablecloths and use them as background for my bulletin boards. (I think Cassie told me about that one!)

That's my selling point for the day! Oh, the things I will blog about when I am bored!

I am officially a blogger!

I didn't think that I would start a blog this soon, as I am not pregnant nor have children to blog about, but I have been inspired by a few friends to start one in an effort to keep in touch with family and friends. I am not good at remembering to take pictures so this will also be a way to encourage me to capture more memories on camera. Hope you enjoy!
