This weekend three of my best friends from high school drove up from San Antonio to stay with us for the weekend. Kristen (Kassner) was coming up for one of our college friend's baby shower so I told the other girls they should come with her and they did! Addie and Carla are both moms too so this was a big deal for them to leave their little ones and have some girl time away. I felt so honored that they would come and visit me on one of their first times away from thier children. All the moms out there know what a big deal that is! I know they missed thier kiddos a ton but they didn't let it get in the way of our fun weekend! My need to take care of Ava, and myself, got in the way a little bit on Saturday but they understood and were good sports. I'll explain. Since Kassner and I had Cathy's baby shower to attend on Saturday afternoon we dropped Addie and Carla off at the Galleria to do some shopping while we were there. I brought along Ava to the shower because Cathy and a few of our other A&M friends had never met her before and I thought she would be a happy girl since she got a little nap before the shower. WRONG! Aparently her nap was not long enough because after about 20 minutes of being there my sweet baby turned into a fussy mess. I tried to get her to sleep and just when I did I went and joined the party again and she woke up crying from all the noise. I knew there was no way she was going to rest with so much going on and being in a new place and I certainly didnt want to spend the entire time in the back room with her so I decided I needed to take her home to feed her and leave her with Mikey so she could rest. Since I was the driver I told Kassner to stay at the party and I would just come back and get her and then the girls at the Galleria. I obviously was a little stressed about the whole situation that had and was going to take place because as I was driving back to the shower I got a blind spot in my eye which always tells me a migraine headache is on the way! Crap! It was only like 5 minutes of that before I started getting nauseous and my vision was starting to really get bad. Once I got back to the shower I had to take tylenol and lay down immediately. It was totally embarrassing but I had no choice. The only way I can keep my migraines from getting bad is to take medicine and get myself to bed as soon as possible. It only took about 30 minutes of resting before I felt like I could somewhat function again. Meanwhile our poor friends Addie and Carla were stuck at the mall waiting for us to come and get them after the whole ordeal! Kassner had to drive so I did my best to navigate her back to my house after we got the girls. I rested a little bit more when we got home and I felt good enough to get out with the girls for some yummy pizza and drinks at Fireside Pies. We didn't eat till late because of our setbacks. We still had a wonderful time and having the girls here was just what I needed! Thanks girls for being so flexible and understanding. I enjoyed your company and all the laughs! Love you!
